Sisler Allied Health Center at Clovis Community College | Clovis, New Mexico
The new Sisler Allied Health Center consolidates Clovis Community College’s Allied Health and Human Services programs into one centralized instructional facility. The Sisler Center connects by pedestrian breezeway to the adjacent Library/Technology Center (a previous Greer Stafford project), forming the core of the master planned “Campus East” complex.
The center includes a nursing lab, EMS lab, multi-media lab, radiology technology lab, computer/testing lab, 100-seat lecture hall, student commons area, and administrative suite. A Clinical Simulation lab allows nursing students to interact with simulation mannequins in a life-like health care setting. These “smart” labs and classrooms are equipped with every high-tech convenience from data access in floors for laptops and tablets, Wi-Fi, projection screens for full integration of technology, and comfortable furnishings with lumbar supports.
The project is LEED Silver certified. Energy-efficient features have been integrated into the building’s design in order to reduce environmental impact and lower operational costs. Natural daylighting helps to reduce cooling loads. Rainwater harvesting and low water-use landscaping conserve water. Computer energy modeling resulted in optimized energy performance of the building’s mechanical system.
