San Juan Center for Independence | Farmington, New Mexico
This project constructed a new multi-use facility for the San Juan Center for Independence — a non-profit organization that provides life skills training, socialization & recreational opportunities, and other services to adults with physical disabilities. The new building includes 11 staff offices (with reception area, adjacent board room, file room, copy room and server room), a 3,000 square foot multi-purpose event room that opens onto a large covered patio, a commercial kitchen, and a recreational room for the Center’s clients that includes vending machines, couches, a TV, pool table and computers. In addition to providing ample handicapped parking and wheel-chair accessible curbs, the site design includes a raised bed garden and a transit stop for the City of Farmington’s Red Apple Transit service.
